Project “Manager of investment in Marijampole region”

Short project description

During the project implementation it is foreseen to collect, analyze and summarize information – database for the potential local and foreign investors to Marijampole county. This database will consist of general introduction about the county, potential of the enterprises situated in the county, investment possibilities. Information in Lithuanian, English and Russian languages will be presented for the investors in the form of Website, magazine and CDs. Information in CDs and Website will contain video information about the county and its main enterprises. Information about the Website and information itself will be disseminated by post, during international and local business meetings, seminars and conferences.

In the seminar, organized during the project representatives of governmental and business institutions will be trained principles of management and investor attraction.

Cost

The total cost of the Operation eligible for financing by the Contracting Authority is estimated at EUR 95048; Marijampole business development fund – 85090 Eur (75,38 % Phare 2000 ESC contribution and 24,62 % Lithuanian National contribution).

Project “Development of tourism opportunities in Marijampole region”

Short project description

For a long period Marijampole county was considered not suitable for tourism . For this reason, tourism in the county was not developed. During the last few years new roads and highways, connecting Northern and Southern, Eastern and Western Europe have been built or are under construction. This determines necessity as soon as possible to create in the region system and network of tourism services, branch of Nemunas Euroregion Marijampole bureau for tourism development.

During the project implementation it is foreseen to collect and analyze information about the existing situation in tourism in the region, to prepare a feasibility study and tourism development programme. Main attention will be focused on the development of tourism infrastructure and services, creation of tourism product and its popularization.

It is planned during the project implementation to present tourism of the region in the magazine, maps, CDs, Website, tourism terminals, purchased from the project budget, also in the tourism fairs in Finland, Helsinki (15-19.01.2003) and Germany, Berlin (07-11.03.2003). Information in CDs and Website will contain video information.

During the project implementation 2 seminars on development of tourism infrastructure and services will be arranged.

Cost

The total cost of the Operation eligible for financing by the Contracting Authority is estimated at EUR 118436; Marijampole business development fund – 99600 Eur (75,38 % Phare 2000 ESC contribution and 24,62 % Lithuanian National contribution).
